Polish Ministry of Infrastructure

The Ministry of Infrastructure is a part of governmental administration which serves the minister responsible for the issues related to: construction, spatial order and housing, maritime economy, communications, transport.

The Ministry is oriented to set directions, and also draft and improve solutions for national and international projects that fall within the scope of transport, maritime economy, communications, construction, spatial order and housing, and provide legislative foundation for their implementation.

The Ministry is an intermediary institution within the process of EU funds acquisition and absorption for development of transport infrastructure. The projects, to be implemented till 2013, e.g. funded under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment, is the biggest investment programme ever implemented in Poland so far. The Ministry is also implementing "National Road Construction Programme 2008 - 2012" that shows objectives, road expenditures in respective years, and sources of financing. The programme is comprised of projects aimed at building and modernising national roads as well as maintaining and operating them.
